Richard Maxwell

From Harold Maxwell's Autobiography:
"Dad’s early childhood was spent at Moruya where my Grandfather Richard Maxwell met and married Agnes Thompson, a daughter of the local butcher. They lived on a farm and seven out of their eight children, including Dad, were born there. This early style of life was good training in self-sufficiency for Dad. He could use tools, mend shoes, cut hair, grow vegetables, and had many other skills including carpentry and let’s not forget just plain hard work. Several years later they moved to Randwick and after that to Leichhardt where the last child Jim was born. The eight Maxwell children then were brothers Harold (Harry), William (Bill) and James (Jim) and sisters Gladys, Maria (Tib), Ethel, Elizabeth (Lizzie), and Alma."
