Lucy was the only daughter of William and Ann Kingston of Bream Creek. She was born on the 14th of January 1841 and was baptised at St. George's Church of England, Sorell, her register number being 730. On the 6th of October 1857, at the age of 16 years and nine months, she married Henry Smith and on the birth registartion of their 12 children he is described as a farmer of Bream Creek. Henry was a justice of the peace for the Bream Creek area and as such was highly regarded in the community. Hid name was on several death certificates as the informant and also some birth certificates stated "notified by Henry Smith, farmer, of Bream Creek". Lucy's niece, Kate Harvey, mentioned in her diary that she went to see Aunt Luct during her last illness and said that she had been ill for a long time. Lucy died at her home on the 12th of September 1888 and her death registration notes the cause of death was a stomach tumor. She was in her 48th year.
