Archie was born on the 4th of February 1883. In 1910 he married Amy Emily Bolton, but they had no children.Archie took over his fathers farm, because by the time his father died in 1922, six of the eight sons born to the family had died. The only two sons left were Archie and Frank, who had already moved from the area and was living in Moonah. Archie later sold the farm to his cousin, Ellis Kingston, and moved to Victoria. He bought a farm at Bundoora, near Melbourne and at one stage his second cousin, Errol Kingston, was share farming with him. The property was later sold and is now part of the city of Mill Park. An extension of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology has been built on what was Archie's farm.
