Elizabeth Hambly married John Duncombe on the 27th of June 1808 and later lived with William Steer. Both Duncombe and Steer were convicts. Duncombe went insane and later records do not list his ultimate demise.
Elizabeth had three children by Duncombe and two by Steer.

Elizabeth was taken to the debtors gaol after she tried to keep the farm at Pittwater operating after John was sent to the Benevolent Asylum. She owed money to Harris Walker for stores, goods and wares and wheat she had promised him for payment of money

Elizabeth petitioned the Lt Governor Arthur concerning the land her late husband had owned in Macquarie St, Hobart, stating the Surveyor Evans had measured various portions of it to other people there fore depriving her of earnings.
