COUNTRY HOUSK BROKEN INTO.

MANSFIELD, Sunday -During the temporary absence of Mr T. T. Cleeland and family his residence, Tasma, fourteen miles from Mansfield, was entered by two men and the place ransacked. Mrs. Cleeland was returning home, and saw the men enter the house and leave with their booty, which consisted mainly of wearing apparel. Afraid to venture near, she awaited her husband, who returned soon afterwards, and with a description of the men, set out to inform the police in Mansfield. Two men were arrested within a few hours on the road to Benalla, and were brought up at the Mans- field court on Saturday and remanded till Monday.

CLEELAND. - On August 11, at B.N. Hospital, Benalla, Thomas Thompson, of Barjarg, beloved husband of the late Mary Cleeland, loving father of Gordon, and be- loved uncle of Nina Green; grandfather of Keith and Rex, aged 77 years.
